COVID-19 AWARENESS PROGRAM (JULY – DECEMBER 2020)

Umthathi is running Covid-19 awareness program to less privileged communities in the Eastern Cape Province. The main purpose of the program is to mitigate effects of Covid -19. Thus, putting emphasis on safety measures, they should abide with regarding corona. Umthathi also ensures that after conducting Covid 19 awareness workshop, we also give out community members cloth masks, handouts on precautionary measures on Corona and giving out basic food parcels to selected households. For the sustainability purpose, we are also providing them with gardening skills and also demonstrate to them on how to do organic type of farming in their households and lastly we give out seedlings so that they will be able to carry on doing gardening and they will be able to generate income from selling from their produce.. We have also discovered that most people lost their jobs during the lock down and it happened when they did not prepare for it. So Umthathi is coming in to fill in the gap and restoring hope to those who have lost it
